From the perspective of historical narrative, neo-Victorian novel can be divided into three genres: neo-Victorian novel based on the official historical narrative perspective, the folk historical narrative perspective, and the alternate historical narrative perspective, which challenge the absolutely objective and true historical narrative, deconstruct the determined history of the Victorian era by questioning the official history, excavating the folk history, or making up the alternate history. Three genres together express the revisionism, marginality and self-reflexivity of postmodern historical view.
